Pour que vous connaissiez mieux ma famille, je vous met la lettre qu'ils on fait pour les au pair :Hello!
We are the H.Family from Davidson, North Carolina and we are very excited about hosting another au pair in our home. Davidson is a small town which is located 20 miles north of Charlotte. Though the town itself is not very big, there are plenty of things to do in the surrounding area. Davidson College, which educates approximately 1600 students per year, has many lectures, cultural and sporting events and the Town of Davidson frequently organizes community concerts and events. We are very close to Lake Norman where we enjoy swimming and boating when the weather and our schedules permit. There are also many nice shopping areas in the surrounding vicinity like Birkdale Village, Concord Mills and Northlake Mall. We love living in Davidson because we are close enough to Charlotte to take advantage things a large city has to offer, yet far enough away to have a more relaxed community atmosphere.
Davidson is in the Piedmont region of North Carolina- located between the Appalachian Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. Both regions are very easy to get to for weekend excursions. The climate here is wonderful. The winter never gets too cold and the spring and autumn are very pleasant. Though the summers can be very hot, we enjoy it because it gives us plenty of opportunity to head to the swimming pool or the lake!
We are seeking an au pair because Amy attends a law school that is 1.5 hours away from Davidson and she has to stay there several nights a week. We have found that having an au pair assisting us with the children is extremely helpful and knowing that such a person will be living is our home is a source of great comfort to us. This will be the third year we have hosted an au pair in our home.
We have three children, a daughter and twin boys:
Emma will be 12 years old on May 24th. She is a typical first child. She is usually very responsible and helpful. However, she is at an age where she would like to be considered “grown up” and is anxious to be a “teenager.” Sometimes her moods are unpredictable, but overall she is a very sweet child. She enjoys playing the piano, baking, arts and crafts, swimming, biking and playing outside. She enjoys having au pairs live with us because it means another girl around the house! We hope that the new au pair will also be a great role model for Emma and will be patient with her as she tries to figure out who she is in this new “teenage” world.
Will and Steven, our fraternal twin boys, will be 9 years old on June 3rd. They look absolutely nothing alike so it will be very easy for you to tell them apart!. Both of them are very active and love to play outside, swim, and bike. Will is very serious, responsible and full of energy! He enjoys doing math problems, playing his Gameboy and doing crossword puzzles. Will's favorite sports are football, baseball and soccer. Steven is very laid back, sensitive and funny. He enjoys drawing Manga characters, reading, cooking, and playing his Gameboy.
David is the Director of Facilities and Engineering at Davidson College. His department is in charge of all the buildings and grounds on campus as well as off campus housing, insurance, the college motor pool, and construction departments. It can be a very demanding job, but he enjoys the challenge. His office is located less than 5 minutes from our house. When he isn't working, David enjoys spending time with our children, golfing, softball, and working in the yard.
Amy, as we mentioned above, will be starting her third year of law school in August. When she isn't studying or working, she enjoys relaxing with the children, playing tennis, swimming and biking!
The littlest member of our family is our cat, George. He is an indoor cat and is very lazy! He spends most of the day sleeping in the sun, but will occasionally come out to relax around us. We let him wander the house during the day, but make him stay downstairs throughout the night so he won't disturb OUR sleep!
Many of our extended family members are in the area. Both David and Amy's parents live nearby which is very nice. David also has two aunts close not far from here who enjoy spending time with the children and Amy's brother is in town. Our children are glad to have their grandparents, great aunts and uncle so close by!
We are very excited about hosting another au pair in our home and are looking forward to making this coming year a great one for all involved! Thank you for taking the time to consider working with our family!
Sincerely,
David, Amy, Emma, Will and Steven H.
